Academic Shoot reflection and critique

Part 1 1. Because it was in the classroom, I had to wait till they had some pose that I wanted. 2. I focused on focus because that technical aspect determines the clear subject or not, also focusing on the subject and blurring out the background looks good. 3. I would use the rules of composition more correctly, and I would focus on the subject. 4. Focusing on the subject. 5. I think the lines and rule of thirds are pretty simple at least I think. 6. The hardest one to achieve was framing and simplicity because finding frame is kind of hard and finding and making simple background is hard. 7. I am still struggling on balancing because I am not sure what kind of photo is balanced. Part 2 http://ashtonsphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/academic-shoot.html I liked the idea of taking picture through the classroom door, and make the frame. Also, he had good simple backgrounds. I think he could do much better job on the 'lines' because the picture of lines

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. Main Points of the article is that people shouldn't believe what photographer takes because it's interpretation of reality. Manipulating photos are really little bit different, but i could be huge difference what impacts viewers. B.  Newspapers like the New York Times, the Washington Post and USA Today provide photographers with strict guidelines on how to shoot and edit their photographs. Photojournalists are required to turn in all of their proofs as well as their final portfolio in order for their photographs to be used. Although magazines like Star and the National Inquirer, require less ethics from their photographers, the problem, or question, remains the same. C. I think the acceptable line is if the photo doesn't loses the original mood, then it's ok.  If it loses the original mood, then it's over  edited. D.     This photo is unethical because the feeling of the photo is really contrasting between two photos. One feel like really bad person, but

Intentionally Merged Photo Subject is the girl in the photo. I think it's pretty clear what the subject is. Simplicity Subject is the boy sitting in the desk. I think the subject is clear, but I could have remove the lockers. Framing Subject is the boy sitting in the desk. I think the subject is clear. Rule of Thirds Subject is girl sitting in the chair. I think the subject is clear enough. Lines Subject is people sitting in front of computer, but people can possibly think the computers or furnitures are subject. I could have move my position to other place and take photo to remove the furnitures behind. balance Subject is boy looking through the microscope, I think this is clear enough even though there is girl behind it.

Part 1 Best Action/Emotion I chose this image for the best action and Emotion because the people's face in the photo is really enthusiastic, also that picture is lifelike. Best Story When I first saw this photo I felt some kind of story behind this image. There was people holding other people's hand, so I feel like this photo is telling some story to us. Filling The Frame This photo just looks really interesting and cool. I think the illumination in this photo made this image great looking. It looks like galaxy in the universe. Part 2 Photo I picked from the book is photo that a woman is whispering to a man. The title of the photo is "political secrets". 1. I picked this photo because I felt the photographer took this photo secretly, so I felt really interesting. I like when journalists reveals the secrets. 2. This photo followed simplicity and rule of thirds. Part 3 1. Probably science class, but I don't think it would be that cool

Post Shoot Reflection

1. The most encountered challenges were ideas. Finding idea was the hardest part. Second most encountered challenges was probably angle and where to shoot at the object. 2. I think the zooming and focusing part was what I thought the most. Zooming at the object is really important, also where to focus was pretty hard. 3. I would use rule of thirds and lines, so make picture more dramatic then it was. 4. I would keep find ideas for my style. 5. I think I achieved lines and some rule of thirds. 6. I am interested in shooting the same prompt because I think I can do much better with those rules of compositions. Comment to other blog http://rachelsphotojournalism.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2016-09-09T08:08:00-07:00&max-results=7 This person did great job on choosing objects for each of those prompt, also this person was really creative on prompts. I don't think this person needs that much improvement, but I think this person could fine better picture for happy.
